WAI shares insight into common air conditioning faults
Leading electrical solutions supplier, WAI Europe, has offered insight into what workshops should be looking out for when servicing air conditioning (AC) units.
At EEC, we are committed to supporting the automotive aftermarket through education, technical guidance, and industry leading training programmes designed to help technicians better understand, evaluate, and diagnose emissions related issues.
EEC’s Technical Trainer, Stuart Still, works closely with distributors, garages, and motor factors to help grow their emissions business by increasing staff confidence, product knowledge, and diagnostic capability.
Alongside comprehensive training support, EEC also provides technical advice, fitting assistance, stock guidance, data analysis, and valuable industry insight to ensure customers can offer the best possible solutions to their clients and consumers.
The training programme covers the key functions of the exhaust system, including engine performance, fuel consumption, and sound reduction. Candidates also gain a detailed understanding of catalytic converter operation, with specific focus on coating components and how each element contributes to emissions reduction.
Fault diagnosis using a 4-gas analyser also forms an important part of the programme. Although commonly used for emissions testing, the 4-gas analyser is often underutilised as a diagnostic tool. EEC training helps technicians better interpret emissions data and improve diagnostic accuracy when identifying engine and exhaust-related faults.
With increasing EU legislation leading to a greater number of vehicles being fitted with Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs), EEC’s training also covers DPF functionality, fitting procedures, regeneration issues, and fault diagnosis. Technicians are also educated on the importance of understanding that DPFs are service items that will eventually require replacement depending on vehicle usage, maintenance, and manufacturer specifications.
As the automotive industry continues to evolve, EEC remains dedicated to developing and expanding its training programmes in line with emerging technologies, legislation, and industry trends.
Whether you are an existing EEC customer or new to our business, we would be delighted to discuss tailored training opportunities for your staff and customers.
