Global fluids company, Motul, is delighted to be part of the celebrations commemorating 70 years of the publication of the UK’s foremost weekly motorcycle title, Motor Cycle News.
Nowadays Motor Cycle News (MCN) is much more than the newspaper that first appeared in 1955, having morphed over the years into a multi-media platform that embraces everything motorcycling: a newspaper, online news and sales platform – it even has its own insurance side of the brand.
Motul is proud to be the presenting partner for one of MCN’s key celebration activities: Bikes of the Era. This seven-part series appears in both print and as YouTube videos – every one of which presents what the combined thinking of the MCN staff is about which bike embodies each decade of the publication being around.
Motul branding adorns both screen and print versions, and the company and its products are referenced in each video, often with Motul’s own history of innovation to the fore.
“We were honoured to have been approached to be involved in the MCN 70th Birthday activities and delighted to be able to be part of it,” explains Motul UK and Ireland’s Jason Davies. “They are a great series of articles and videos and, if the first is anything to go by, should provide a great dela of entertainment.”
The bike featured in the first decade – 1955-1964 – is the iconic Triumph T120 Bonneville – so named because it had a claimed top speed of 120MPH.
The videos and accompanying articles of the other six bikes selected from each of MCN’s decades will appear in the coming weeks, and will culminate in an MCN special supplement which celebrates the 70th anniversary and reviews all of the bikes in one go.
