Graham Locke, former ADF and IAAF chief executive, has sadly passed away at the age of 89.
“Graham will be well-remembered for his positions at Coopers Filters and, at a higher profile with Sachs UK and Sachs Boge UK. After retiring from those jobs, he took the reins at the Automotive Distribution Federation for two years 1997-1999, before handing over to Brian Spratt.
He was also chairman of the SMMT’s aftermarket committee.
Graham and wife Rhona moved to live in Australia in the mid-noughties to be closer to their daughter, Claire. Very recently Graham and Rhona moved to live in a nursing home as they both had health issues and, sadly, Graham passed away, peacefully, after just three days in their new abode.
Brain Spratt said: “For my part I only worked with Graham for about two years, although I’d met him several times before then, and it was a most rewarding and pleasant time, (often hilarious !) and I am sorry that our email exchange of news, views and jokes will be no more. I shall miss him.”
