Autowave subscribers praise latest YouTube videos

Wednesday 7 Jan 2026

Nottingham, UK (16/12/25) – Videos showing a key programming procedure for a 2010 Volkswagen Passat and creation of a spare key for a Volkswagen Golf with a virtual cockpit have been applauded by Autowave’s YouTube subscribers. These were among four new videos uploaded to the channel in November.

The channel, which now has over 10,000 subscribers, boasts more than 160 videos and is growing weekly. These include how-to, demonstrations, unboxings and spotlight clips, all created to provide locksmiths, workshops and motor factors important information that will assist them with remote, key and transponder tasks.

They also complement the face-to-face training that Autowave conducts regularly, with a calendar of courses and dates set to be revealed in 2026.

What videos were uploaded?

Volkswagen Passat (2010) – All-keys-lost scenario: Autowave’s Ravi Kotecha uses a VVDI2 and VVDI Prog by Xhorse, complete with a control module and aftermarket key, to make a replacement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9ftVFJe4L8

Volkswagen Golf with virtual cockpit (2018) – Spare key: Ravi uses an ACDP on a job that is a “little more complex” than normal because the instrument cluster needs to be removed. Reassuringly, though, the detailed procedure makes it simple: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2FpnDVpbP8

Ford C-Max (2013) – Spare remote key: Using the OBDStar G3, Ravi programs a spare key. The original key works perfectly so the process is straightforward, but the video provides guidance should the user need assistance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2FpnDVpbP8

Ford KA (2013 – Fiat 500 system) – Spare remote key: Again, utilising the OBDStar G3, Ravi shows how to complete the process with a working spare manual key, non-working remote key and replacement remote key: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pps8gLHJM8

Videos already proving popular

While the videos have only been live a few weeks, they have already gained plenty of views and received appreciative comments – one user said: “Videos so easy to follow. Always great content.”

Another user commented: “Great video. I love how you show it step by step. Thank you!”

It is reassuring that the videos are hitting the mark with Autowave’s audience; the feedback – positive and constructive – allows the company to strengthen and inspire new content. For Ravi, that is the most important aspect of the channel.

He said: “It never ceases to amaze me how many people watch our content. Subscriber growth is driven by demand for these tasks. Knowing what our customers want allows us to respond quickly and generate a video, allowing them to accept work and produce a quality job.”

With modern cars increasingly equipped with advanced systems, locksmiths and workshops can face complex key and transponder tasks. Autowave’s content helps professionals stay ahead.
