Comline joins forces with automotive YouTube sensation to launch timing chain kits

Monday 16 Feb 2026

Comline Auto Parts is delighted to announce an exciting new content partnership with The Car Edition, one of the most engaging and globally recognised YouTube channels.

Comline will sponsor 10 long-form, workshop-based videos that lift the bonnet on real-world engine diagnosis, repairs and insights, genuine installations and product demonstrations. The episodes will educate, excite and encourage independent aftermarket professionals – while showcasing the brand’s developing engine product range, including new timing chain kits, covers and camshaft modules.

The first video in the series features a timing chain replacement on a 2020 Land Rover Defender Ingenium engine, using a Comline timing chain kit. The technician explains the cause of the initial failure and highlights the warning signs owners should be aware of before serious engine damage occurs.

The full-length repair video can be viewed here, while an unboxing of the Comline timing chain kit product CTK094FV is available here.

Who are The Car Edition?

Based in Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom, The Car Edition workshop welcomes customers from around the world. Known for sharp technical expertise and refreshingly light-hearted style, the channel delivers transparent, no-nonsense content straight from the workshop floor. As well as first-hand technical insights, viewers enjoy fresh behind-the-scenes content, like podcasts and interviews.

With a worldwide audience of 140,000 subscribers, The Car Edition’s most-watched video begins as a routine Ford Ranger wet belt replacement; however, the job takes a dramatic turn with the discovery of a shredded timing belt and bent valves, ending in total engine failure. The episode has racked up 1.5 million views.

With more than 65% of The Car Edition’s audience based in the UK and wider Europe, combined with its content tailored for a large audience and Comline’s evolving engine category, this partnership couldn’t be better timed. The British brand has stepped up its engine offering and puts real-world workshop expertise front and centre.

Dynamic communication with the independent aftermarket

Comline Group VP of Marketing and Communications, Jo Emmerson, said: “Partnering with The Car Edition allows us to communicate with the aftermarket in a more dynamic and accessible way. This series isn’t just about showcasing our new products, it’s about giving technicians and distributors meaningful insight into who we are as a brand, how we think, and why we invest so heavily in quality.

“As Comline’s engine programme continues to expand, this collaboration helps us tell that story with clarity, confidence and authenticity, reaching the very people who rely on our parts every day.”

Comline’s new timing chain kits are engineered to deliver OE-matching quality and reliability – backed by a robust four-year/100,000km warranty.

Developed by Comline’s engine parts department with over 40 years of specialist experience, each kit is manufactured in OE factories, features OXICOAT® chain pin coating and is rigorously tested to ensure durability and peace of mind.

The range includes over 300 SKUs and covers popular applications, such as the Ford EcoBoost (2018-onwards), VAG 1.4 TSI and BMW N47 engines.

Technicians can choose a basic kit – comprising timing chain, guides, tensioner and pre-lube – or a full kit with all components required for a complete timing system replacement.

Comline Group VP of Engine Product, Dominic Moxon, said: “Our partnership with The Car Edition gives us the perfect platform to show technicians exactly what sets Comline’s engine products apart.

“We have engineered our components for consistency, durability and real‑world performance – and seeing them installed and tested in an authentic workshop environment allows that quality to speak for itself. This transparency builds trust, and we’re excited to let professionals see behind the scenes of what goes into every Comline product.”

Details of Comline’s camshaft module will be announced in due course.
