Exol Lubricants triumphs at industry awards for it sustainability and environmental initiatives

Tuesday 3 Mar 2026

Exol Lubricants is celebrating winning the ‘Environmental Award’ at the CAT Awards 2026 for its continued commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

It’s the second time the company has picked up this prestigious accolade after being crowned the award in 2024. Against strong competition in the category, Exol was recognised as the leading company to take home the win for 2026 at the awards ceremony which took place at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester on 26th February.

Exol continues to invest in several CSR initiatives to create a more efficient, economical and environmentally friendly business. Solar panels are installed at the brand’s headquarters in Wednesbury to help cut carbon emissions and save energy costs. Exol has also invested in a state-of-the-art automated liquid transfer system, delivered to reduce waste product lost during the blending process.

In a sector heavily reliant on road transport, Exol remains unique in operating its own environmentally friendly barge system, transporting bulk materials from Hull to its Rotherham site via the UK’s waterways. This helps to reduces road miles and associated carbon emissions, lowers congestion and environmental impact on local communities and supports a greener supply chain overall.

While much of the aftermarket is now embracing the circular economy, Exol has championed these principles for many years – maximising resource efficiency, reducing waste, investing in renewable energy and promoting responsible transportation methods.

Steve Dunn, Sales and Marketing Director at Exol Lubricants, commented: “Our sustainability strategy is a long-term operational commitment driven by continual investment and measurable environmental gains. We are proud of the progress made so far and remain dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint while supporting customers and distributors with high-quality, responsibly manufactured lubricants.”

He added: “What a brilliant achievement to be recognised once again for our sustainability initiatives. We’d like to thank everyone who voted for us – and of course our fantastic team and customers!”
