The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has announced a major step forward in member engagement, with more than 60 members now taking on additional roles and responsibilities within its growing network of communities.
As part of the federation’s ongoing drive to create a more collaborative, representative and progressive aftermarket, members now participate in key areas including the IAAF Council, Garage Section, CV Section, and a newly formed community focused on improving gender balance across the sector.
Building on this momentum, three further communities are set to be launched in the coming months, tackling crucial topics across Lobbying & Strategy, Technical Support, and Skills, Training & Recruitment – ensuring the IAAF has a strong, informed voice on the key issues facing its members.
“IAAF is a federation run by its members, for its members,” said Mark Field, Chief Executive of IAAF. “There is now a real opportunity for every member to take a more active role in shaping the future of the automotive aftermarket. The exchange of ideas and energy we’re seeing from across the industry is empowering the federation’s future development.
“We’ve much work to do, but thanks to this growing network of volunteers, from our board to our councils and communities, we are building an even stronger foundation for our sector to grow and thrive. I’d like to thank everyone for their continued commitment.”
IAAF’s reach has significantly broadened, and with this expanded engagement model, the federation is now better equipped than ever to support and represent every part of the aftermarket supply chain, including suppliers, motor factors, garages and motorists.”
Kevin Kelly, IAAF President, highlighted the vital role these communities will play in shaping the industry’s future: “One of our biggest opportunities lies in skills and training. By giving more people a platform to share ideas, we are not only building a better-connected federation, but we’re also raising standards across the board. A wider range of voices brings innovation, and that’s how we improve the way we work as an industry.”
With events remaining a key pillar of IAAF activity, the federation is urging all members to continue making the most of in-person networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities. This year’s flagship event – the IAAF Annual Conference and Awards Dinner, will take place on Thursday 4 December 2025, bringing together the entire industry to reflect, celebrate, and look ahead to the future.
