IAAF strengthens leadership team with key appointments as federation enters new phase

Thursday 12 Mar 2026

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has announced a series of important leadership appointments, reinforcing its commitment to supporting members and championing the independent automotive aftermarket during a period of rapid change across the sector.

Leading the changes is the appointment of James Dillon as Technical Director, succeeding Neil Pattimore, who will retire later this year after many years of dedicated service to the federation and the wider industry.

Dillon will play a central role in supporting IAAF members on technical matters while continuing the federation’s work with policymakers and legislators to ensure the voice of the independent aftermarket is heard.

James Dillon said: “I’m delighted to be joining the IAAF at such an important time for the industry. The independent aftermarket plays a vital role in keeping the nation’s vehicles on the road, and it’s essential that the sector continues to be represented effectively as vehicle technology, regulation and mobility continue to evolve. I look forward to supporting members and building on the strong work already done by the federation.”

IAAF Chief Executive Mark Field also paid tribute to Neil Pattimore’s long-standing contribution. “Neil has been an outstanding advocate for the independent aftermarket and has played a hugely important role in representing the sector on technical and legislative matters for many years,” he said. “We thank him for his dedication and the lasting impact he has made. James brings tremendous technical knowledge and industry insight, and we’re very pleased to welcome him to the federation.”

The federation has also announced Tina Drayson as its new Vice-President, strengthening the senior leadership team and recognising her ongoing commitment to the organisation and the wider industry.

Drayson already serves as Head of the IAAF Garage Committee and has been instrumental in supporting initiatives that strengthen collaboration between workshops, suppliers and the wider aftermarket.

Tina Drayson commented: “I’m incredibly proud to take on the role of Vice-President and continue supporting the federation’s work on behalf of its members. The aftermarket is built on expertise, collaboration and innovation, and the IAAF plays a crucial role in bringing businesses together to tackle the challenges ahead while promoting the opportunities within the sector.”

Completing the leadership changes, Michael Shaikly AAE MIMI has been appointed Head of the IAAF Garage Section, reflecting the growing number of independent garages joining the federation as they look for support and representation across a range of industry challenges.

Shaikly will also join the IAAF Council, helping to strengthen collaboration between garages, motor factors and suppliers.

Mark Field added that the appointments reflect the federation’s continued growth and ambition. “With more garages joining the IAAF and the sector evolving rapidly, strengthening our leadership team is essential,” he said.

“James, Tina and Mick each bring valuable experience, insight and energy to their roles, and I’m confident they will help drive the federation forward as we continue to support our members and champion the independent automotive aftermarket.”
