Arnold Clark Autoparts expands Disctech braking range

Date: Friday 24 June 2022

Arnold Clark Autoparts has revamped its Disctech brake disc product line, delivering high-end braking for passenger car applications and fulfilling the latest R90 safety requirements.

The new zinc coated Disctech discs appear alongside the national motor factor’s Padtech brake pad range, are fully compliant with R90 specifications and are supplied with all required fitment parts.

Craig McCracken, group factor manager at Arnold Clark Autoparts, said:

“Further research and development has delivered an uprated Disctech braking product line, which now features a new zinc coating that prevents corrosion. It’s a brand and range we’ve continually developed for more than 10 years.”

The coating material used on Disctech’s brake discs has been specially formulated and contains at least 80 percent aluminium and zinc flakes to enhance resistance to corrosion and is heat-resistant to 300 degrees centigrade.

The coating line, as used by OE manufacturers, is computer-controlled using robotics to perform the spray-coating. This enables accurate and consistent coverage and provides a quality finish.

Coating thickness is controlled to between five and 25 micrometres, without adversely affecting braking performance, and as the coating is water-based and solvent-free, it’s environmentally friendly and REACH compliant.
