Arnold Clark Autoparts partners with stock car racer

Date: Friday 13 May 2022

National motor factor Arnold Clark Autoparts is sponsoring stock car racing driver Holly Glen as she makes a bid for the World Stock Car Championships.

Arnold Clark Autoparts is providing Dundee-based Glen with support as she competes across the UK, with the aim of qualifying for and winning the world championship at the end of 2022.

Holly Glen, MOT manager at Autoparts’ customer GTM Garage Services, and stock car racing driver, said:

“Stock car racing is something I live for. I’ve been racing for 25 years, and it’s great to have Autoparts supporting us as we make our way through the saloon class series. The sport is fast-paced and brutal, it’s fully elbows-out racing, but the atmosphere and fan following is special – it’s a real spectacle.”

Holly’s stock car is a 2.0 litre engine, space frame car with a Ford Mondeo shell, with Sierra drivetrain. She started in stock cars by racing Minis, followed by 16 years’ racing in the Formula Two category, before moving to saloon stock cars where she now competes.

Craig McCracken, group factor manager at Arnold Clark Autoparts, said:

“Stock car racing is a visceral form of motorsport that we’re delighted to get involved in and support Holly with the parts she needs to keep her vehicle racing. The racing itself is exciting, and drivers and teams need to be on the ball to get the car repaired between races if needs be.
“Holly’s father George got in touch with us about the parts sponsorship as he is a long-term customer and we were happy to step in and help the team in their bid for the world title,” McCracken added.

Arnold Clark Autoparts is one of the fastest growing UK motor factors, having innovated parts distribution for the past 30 years.

The award-winning parts distributor, with branches across Scotland, Northern England and the Midlands, has continued to invest in the business and has recently announced a significant extension to its South Street premises in Glasgow, a key central distribution hub for its branch network.
