Banner Charges Ahead In Oval Track Racing

Date: Wednesday 08 May 2024

Having last year embraced the adrenaline-fuelled realm of oval track racing here in the UK, Banner - one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of batteries and battery accessories – is going that extra mile for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

Indeed it is a move that will mark the dawn of a new era, with one of the world’s most recognised brands – Duracell Automotive – looking to create a formidable force in oval track racing. With Banner holding the excusive rights to produce and market Duracell automotive batteries, the brand will now make its presence felt as the dynamic and striking racecar livery of the emerging team of Luke Loveland Racing.

And with Banner continuing its direct sponsorship of Charlie Bull Racing for the 2024 season, this latest move will see two of the world’s leading names in lead acid batteries compete together on the UK oval track racing scene.

As Banner Country Manager, Lee Quinney states: “"The fusion of Banner and Duracell Automotive will bring unmatched energy to the track. Luke Loveland Racing, backed by the indomitable Duracell Automotive brand, is primed to set new standards of excellence this season and beyond. And with Luke's unwavering dedication, coupled with Duracell Automotive’s support, will hopefully position us for championship glory.”

Expressing his delight in securing such monumental sponsorship, Luke Loveland exclaimed: "It's a privilege to partner with Duracell Automotive, a brand synonymous with power and performance. With this unparalleled backing, the race team is poised and committed to unleash its full potential on the track. We're ready to seize championship glory this season and beyond.”

The UK oval track-racing season centres on 16 events that take place across circuits predominantly within the Midlands and across the south of England. It is a closed circuit motorsport that is contested on an oval-shaped racetrack, with cars travelling in an almost universally counter-clockwise direction. Each race event involves three races; 20 laps across two qualifying events and a 25-lap final, and each lap is normally completed in a time of 15/16 seconds, with cars reaching speeds in excess of 65 mph.
