Ben: Support for life - depression

Date: Thursday 25 February 2021

Ben has recently seen a rise in the number of people looking for help with depression, which isn’t surprising as it’s been reported that the number of adults experiencing depression has almost doubled since the start of the pandemic.

To help, Ben thought it would be useful to share some information including what depression is, the symptoms and how Ben can support.

Depression
Depression is one of the most common mental health conditions and also one of the main reasons people contact Ben for support. It can affect anyone at any time, with one in five people in the UK reporting feeling depressed or anxious.

Everyone has times when their mood is low, and they feel sad or down. But, if the feelings are persistent and don't go away after a couple of weeks, or if they keep coming back, it could be a sign that someone is experiencing depression.

The good news is that with the right treatment and support, it is possible for people to manage the symptoms of depression and most make a full recovery. To view some tips and information to help people manage and get help with depression CLICK HERE.

If you need someone to talk to you can call Ben on the free and confidential helpline on 08081 311 333, or chat online.

You can also sign up to SilverCloud, a digital platform with CBT programmes, helping you to improve your mental health & wellbeing. It’s free for anyone who works or has worked in the automotive industry.
