The government has clearly highlighted the importance of ongoing service, repair and MOTs of emergency vehicles and those of key workers and services. So while the government, under new social distancing measures, is requiring people to stay at home, motor factors can stay open in order to supply workshops with the necessary parts, tools and information for them to repair vehicles. To assist, the IAAF has published a letter for members to give employees should they face any restrictions of movement or adverse comments on staying open. Link to letter

Parts distributors that offer a trade counter service should adhere to the strict government social distancing measures implemented throughout all essential services.
Under current rules, employees may be called back to work when on furlough, subject to the 3 weeks’ minimum furlough duration. Furlough may be longer than 3 weeks. In addition, employees can also be made redundant when on furlough or at the end of it and their employment may be terminated for other reasons.
