Delphi adds Volvo into security gateway solution

Delphi has announced the integration of Volvo into its security gateway solution as part of its latest diagnostic software update.

Delphi's highly advanced BlueTech diagnostic tool can now automatically obtain Volvo authorisation tokens. It’s a seamless process which automatically authenticates with Volvo’s security gateway, giving busy technicians unrestricted access to diagnostic functions.

“Everyday tasks like reading and clearing fault codes are no longer straightforward on today’s connected vehicles," said Phil Mitchell, European Workshop Solutions Manager at Delphi. "Our solution streamlines this process, allowing technicians to efficiently perform their jobs without the hassle."

Security gateways limit access to certain diagnostic functions, allowing only authorised access. It’s a process designed to safeguard connected vehicles from being compromised through hacking.

“Trying to manually gain access through these gateways is incredibly time consuming for busy workshops,” said Phil. “Technicians need a VM authorisation token for each job, requiring workshops to manage multiple portal accounts and handle the headache of purchasing credits and invoicing. Delphi is taking away that hassle by simplifying the whole process. Register once, and we’ll do the rest.”

Workshops using Delphi’s DS180 BlueTech diagnostics tool with DS car and light commercial vehicle software, get direct access to Iveco, Mercedes-Benz and Smart, Stellantis, Volkswagen Group and now also Volvo, with Renault and Dacia accessible via pass-thru.

Delphi’s automated security gateway allows garages to seamlessly service security-protected vehicles whilst DTC-assist functionality provides technicians with guided diagnostic assistance.

“Purchasing the diagnostic tool is just the starting point,” said Phil. “We offer complimentary e-learning diagnostic courses to software license holders, giving them the confidence to undertake complex diagnostic processes.”

Delphi will continue to expand VM coverage in future software releases.
