Delphi to exhibit at Simply Keys

Date: Tuesday 18 June 2024

Delphi’s next-generation BlueTech vehicle communication interface (VCI) diagnostic tool is set to take centre stage at automotive locksmith show, Simply Keys next month.

Taking place at the GTG in Wolverhampton over the weekend of July 20th and 21st, the free event is billed to be a must-attend for independent garage owners seeking to enhance their service offerings and boost revenue streams.

“The increasing complexity of today’s vehicles means even the most routine service and maintenance procedures now often require a diagnostic procedure to unlock the vehicle’s security gateway,” said Luke Garratt, UK & Nordics Technical Services Manager at Delphi. “Key coding is no exception, as it involves communication with the vehicle's electronic control units to program new keys or reprogram existing ones.”

Delphi’s DS180 BlueTech VCI, together with Delphi’s DS car and light commercial vehicle software, boasts automated security gateway access. It means workshops and automotive locksmiths get direct access to Iveco, Mercedes-Benz and Smart, Stellantis, Volkswagen Group and Volvo, with Renault and Dacia accessible via pass-thru.

"The Delphi DS180 is the perfect diagnostic companion for any auto locksmith,” said Matt Woodgate, Diagnostic Specialist at Hickleys. “As vehicle systems become ever-more complicated, having a high-quality diagnostic tool with the latest diagnostics over internet protocol (DoIP) and security gateway compatibility is vital."

Also set to be showcased at Simply Keys, Delphi’s DS480 diagnostic kit combines the DS180 BlueTech VCI with a Delphi-branded Microsoft Surface Pro tablet and USB hub for use with pass thru.

Organised by Hickleys, the annual event will showcase the latest key programming and diagnostic equipment with live demonstrations and insightful talks, alongside exclusive show deals. Attendees will also get a free lunch and a chance to win big from a prize pot worth around £35,000.
