DVSA launches updated MOT reminders and history toolkit for garages

Date: Friday 14 October 2022

The DVSA has revealed its updated MOT reminders and MOT history toolkit for workshops and service centres to promote to customers, with redesigned and improved services to make the process more efficient for users and help ease the workload for garages.

Managing MOT reminders has been made easier and clearer, as well as the addition of a function to amend or stop reminders for the vehicles registered. For the MOT history page, DVSA has improved the service, so motorists and businesses only need to enter a vehicle’s VC5 number once to view or print MOT certificates.

Since launching the MOT reminders, DVSA has reached four million sign ups in total, and the MOT history service has around two million visits per month. After listening to feedback from users, the DVSA has improved each service to ensure a more efficient and streamlined offering.

With the busy MOT period in full swing, the DVSA’s toolkit aims to encourage motorists to book MOTs early to beat the rush - and ensure they can get an appointment and not be turned away by their local garage.

The new toolkit from DVSA also includes advice and graphics for businesses to use on social media and emails to customers to help support and promote the MOT reminders and MOT history services to assist in managing workloads.
