FIGIEFA and CLEPA to set up joint initiative

Date: Friday 02 December 2022

The Forum on Automotive Aftermarket Sustainability (FAAS) is a joint initiative of the automotive aftermarket sector promoted by the FIGIEFA and CLEPA.

A kick-off meeting was held on September 12, 2022, in Frankfurt attended by 12 associations, 20 suppliers, 11 wholesalers and 6 international trading groups (ITGs). In the meeting, the participants discussed the mission and objectives of the FAAS and 4 work streams were identified as most relevant regarding their potential contribution towards a more sustainable aftermarket.

The FAAS will start its activities by focusing initially on four work streams and a Working Group will be created for each issue to frame the related discussions and work:

  • Working Group 1: Study on CO2 footprint (analysis of status & solutions for improvements)
  • Working Group 2: Remanufacturing of parts
  • Working Group 3: Standardised calculation method of product carbon footprint
  • Working Group 4: Optimisation of Supply Chain Logistics.

FIGIEFA and CLEPA would like to gather a pool of experts for each Working Group to work on its particular issue on a regular basis.

FIGIEFA and CLEPA are therefore asking all the sector associations, companies and groups to publicise this initiative within their network in order to gather a pool of experts that would be willing to be actively involved in the work of the FAAS Working Groups and to offer their knowledge and experience.

If you are interested or wish for more information, please contact Mark Field, the IAAF Chief Executive, by email giving details of yourself and the particular working group you are interested in.
