Further honours for Philips new generation RacingVision GT200

Date: Thursday 06 May 2021

Introduced in Autumn of 2020 the new Philips RacingVision GT200 - with up to +200%[1] brighter light - was taking plaudits only weeks after its launch, by securing coveted “Recommended Buy” status by Auto Express magazine in its Headlamp Bulb Mega Test. Further recognition of RacingVision GT200’s exceptional performance and quality has followed recently, with the bulb now receiving a Commendation in Auto Express’s 2021 Product Awards, as well as also being judged “Best of Test” in leading French weekly motoring magazine Auto Plus’s recent bulb test - where it and other Philips bulbs proved to be the class of the field.

Auto Plus’ testing format was similar to Auto Express with 11 H7 bulbs tested, both in the laboratory and dynamically. RacingVision GT200 not only came first in the test but scored a full five out of five rating. Three other Philips bulbs also figured near the top of the rankings.

Up to 200% brighter lights for a safe drive!
Philips RacingVision GT200 is the flagship of the halogen range, delivering the type of super-bright visibility of a rally bulb, but obviously in a format that drivers can use on public roads. With its ultra-performance beam reaching a full 80 meters further than the minimum length[2], Philips RacingVision GT200 lets the driver see more of the road ahead, spot potential hazards sooner, react faster and position your car more accurately on the road. The optimised bulb design provides higher luminance for a better view of the road ahead, which all adds up to a safer, more satisfying driving experience.

New production techniques for Diamond Precision quartz glass employed, ensure more light output within the regulation limits, guaranteeing a sharp cut-off line as well as a brighter sweet spot to give more brightness where it counts. The use of quartz glass also means greater resistance to thermal shocks to protect the bulb's lifespan, while enhanced UV absorption protects the car’s headlight optic.

Performance, Quality and Safety for a great driving experience
“Our Philips RacingVision GT200 headlight bulbs got a great review in the original Auto Express test and therefore it was not unexpected to see them performing so well in other bulb tests. The GT200s are ECE homologated and approved for use on public road, so performance-oriented drivers can really enjoy a bright, vibrant and street-legal bulb compliant with relevant regulations.” says Richard Armstrong, Business Development Manager Automotive – UK and Ireland at Lumileds.

A history of innovation and the promise of quality together with enhanced safety
The Philips brand has introduced almost every major innovation in automotive lighting over the last fifty years - halogen and then high-performance halogen bulbs, HID Xenon lighting, long-life halogen and LED lighting. Therefore, when a new bulb is introduced, which further pushes the boundaries of automotive lighting, it is not unexpected for it to have the Philips brand attached to it.

Technologically advanced Philips lighting is renowned in the automotive industry, and has been for over 100 years. The Philips Original Equipment Quality products are designed and developed following strict quality control processes (including applicable ISO norms), leading to consistently high production standards. Philips RacingVision GT200 is compatible with car models of major brands, such as Audi, BMW, Ford, GM, Toyota and Volkswagen. See the product selector guide for more information.

Philips RacingVision GT200 is available in the most common headlight bulb types, H4 and H7. They succeed our previous award-winning top-performance range, Philips RacingVision.
