HELLA diagnostic focus and ADAS presentation succeed at UK Garage and Bodyshop Event

Date: Monday 10 June 2024

HELLA has hailed its appearance at the UK Garage and Bodyshop Event as a success, with its diagnostic-led stand display, ‘spin the wheel’ competition and ADAS presentation all drawing crowds.

The UK Garage and Bodyshop Event was held at the NEC in Birmingham on June 5th and 6th. The company was at the show to demonstrate its state-of-the-art equipment, with Hella Gutmann’s mega macs X on display, alongside the Hella Gutmann MT-HV, which extends the capabilities of mega macs X for hybrid and electric vehicles.

“Our stand was busy across both days,” said Julian Goulding, Head of Sales at Hella Gutmann. “Garage owners and technicians were keen to find out more about our customisable diagnostic equipment as well as our specialised solutions for hybrid and electric vehicles.”

The company’s flexible offering proved to be a winner: “Our variable software and licensing models that give workshops the option to upgrade their licence to unlock additional new functionality at any time received a definite thumbs-up from visitors,” said Julian

Thanks to HELLA’s ‘spin the wheel’ game on the stand, six winners walked away with macsRemote vehicle communication interfaces (VCI), worth £850 each.

The company also provided an overview on Hella Gutmann’s macsRemote Services. “We were able to show in person how technicians simply connect the macsRemote VCI to the car,” said Julian. “Our technical experts can then remotely access all the vehicle’s electronic systems and perform the required tasks using VM diagnostic equipment. Those we spoke to agreed that it’s a cost-effective pay-as-you-go solution because there are no ongoing license charges.”

Elsewhere at the show, HELLA UK Technical and Training Manager for Garage Equipment Steve Fox hosted a presentation. His talk, ‘The ADAS Opportunity for Independent Garages’, ran at lunchtime on both days of the show. “Being able to properly calibrate ADAS systems is increasingly crucial for independents,” said Steve. “My presentation explained garages can plan and invest accordingly.”

Summing up HELLA’s experience, Julian said: “There was a real buzz on the HELLA stand, and at Steve’s presentation. We were able to demonstrate to mechanics and business owners how the right diagnostic tools can make all the difference to a garage.”
