IAAF member E-Motive Online announces two programs for manufacturers, brands and resellers to safely grow their eCommerce sales

Date: Thursday 23 September 2021

IAAF member E-Motive Online has announced two programmes to help aftermarket manufacturers, brands, distributors and resellers capitalise on their digitalisation and ecommerce efforts. These programmes are the Merchant of Record and Authorised Distributor, and both are designed to help brands maintain their channel harmony while also increasing their business resilience.

Following successful customer pilots, E-Motive, which has previously led IAAF webinars and ‘bitesize’ briefings on aftermarket digitalisation, is making these programmes immediately available.

The Merchant of Record programme allows brands to have control over how their brand is managed online without selling directly or causing conflict with their traditional distribution channels. E-Motive takes care of the entire buyer experience, from listing through to sales, logistics, shipping and customer service.

Authorised Distributor programme allows brands to authorise distributors or resellers to sell their products on eBay. Resellers increase their conversions and sales through better shop and brand visibility, whereas brands protect their brand integrity and can support with promotional budget while maintaining a distance from direct selling channels.

Andrew Rowson, founder and CEO of E-Motive, commented,

“There are many advantages to digitalisation, yet many brands are still concerned with conflict to their existing channels, while their products are also being sold online in ever increasing numbers. These two programmes enable both brands and resellers to concentrate on what they do best, and early indications are that these will be win-wins for sellers and buyers alike.
“We’re also strategic partners of eBay, which means we can bring eBay into the discussion early. eBay is always looking to increase its range of quality inventory and we can negotiate attractive rates to make this happen.”

E-Motive will be speaking and exhibiting at two major ecommerce events in the coming weeks, under the banner of ecommotors, its aftermarket joint venture with Volo Commerce. On the 28th to 30th September, eBay, which runs the largest parts @ accessories marketplace in the UK, is hosting eBay Seller Open UK 2021. A ‘hybrid’ event, the first two days are virtual, with the 30th being held at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse where 800 eBay sellers are expected alongside more than 2,000 virtual attendees. eBay boats over 4 million unique buyers per month, of which 20% of Gross Merchandise Value (‘GMV’) is business buyers.

Two weeks later, the Internet Retailing Expo, one of the 2 largest ecommerce events in calendar, opens its doors at Birmingham’s NEC on the 13th and 14th October. As the aftermarket becomes increasingly digitalised, these two events are great opportunities for aftermarket sellers to explore and capitalise on the resilience that comes from supplementing traditional distribution channels with online channels.

E-Motive was an award winner at the IAAF Pride of the Aftermarket 2020 Awards for ‘Outstanding Innovation During the COVID-19 Crisis’ following its ongoing pro bono work on the eBay-NHS PPE Portal which to date has shipped over 3 billion PPE items.
