In May 1993, the commuting lives of thousands of sales reps and managers was changed for the better when the Mercedes C-Class was launched to the market. It provided an entry-level option into the prestige world of German automotives with sleek styling that was borrowed from the luxurious S-Class. The popularity of the C-Class has never waned and 30 years later the fifth generation is as popular as ever.

The fourth generation (W205) was launched in 2014 at the North American International Auto Show with bold new styling, four different body types and a new, lighter design that used aluminium and high strength throughout the body. The fourth generation was on the market until 2021, though a mid-life update that included new engines, means that exhaust components changed in 2019.

Fast Facts About the Mercedes C-Class

  • The C-Class was named 2015 World Car of the Year (WCOTY) at the New York motor show
