Klarius ready to support 7 million MOTs in September/October 2021

Date: Thursday 30 September 2021

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has recently announced that it expects over 7 million MOTs to take place during September and October 2021 – a 22% rise compared to the normal figures for this period1. To help meet demand for this busy time, Klarius Products has the range and availability in place to enable distributors and stockists to quickly support garages with replacement aftermarket emissions products.

The recent rise in tests has been driven by the 6-month MOT postponement between March and July last year, with certifications carried out after this time now running out2. With assured availability for any component in its range, Klarius, the UK’s largest manufacturer of aftermarket exhausts, is offering distributors and stockists next morning UK delivery on 90% of orders placed before 5:30pm.

“We provide the most complete range of aftermarket exhausts in the UK, covering over 11,000 applications,” explains James Ellison, Sales Director at Klarius. “We operate a next morning delivery service across this extensive range, which ensures that we can quickly deliver popular and niche components exactly where needed. This service also helps free up valuable inventory space and working capital for our customers by removing the need to hold an extensive stock of parts. Knowing that Klarius can deliver the high quality parts rapidly is vital for distributors, helping them to support garages and, as a result, motorists.”

Klarius employs a range of strategies to provide this aftermarket-leading delivery service. Dynamic manufacturing practices, influenced by market demand, ensure equal stock levels for both popular and slow-moving parts. Extensive warehousing capacity means that components are ready for fast dispatch when an order is placed. The company’s own dedicated logistics fleet, AutoLogistiks, operates from multiple depots throughout the UK to deliver Klarius parts to distributors and stockists quickly.

“Our lean supply chain is highly efficient, robust and proactive,” James continues. “This ensures that whether a replacement catalytic converter for an old sports car or an exhaust for a popular modern hatchback, we can offer the same lead time to stockists and distributors. As a result, service garages can receive parts faster, allowing repairs to be carried out quicker, minimising ramp times. Consequently, we can accommodate any increased demand for exhausts and ensure that our customers can too.”

Every applicable component in the Klarius range is type-approved, with the business carrying out independent certification with authorities such as the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) in the UK and the TÜV in Germany. All products are designed, developed, tested and manufactured in-house at the Klarius headquarters in Cheadle, Staffordshire. Components are verified on vehicles of correct make, model and production year, with replacements available for cars and vans of almost any age and body style. A 2-year warranty and a Fit First Time guarantee is standard on all products.
