LKQ Euro Car Parts concludes International Women’s Day celebrations with Automotive 30% Club patronage announcement

Date: Thursday 17 March 2022

Annick Jourdenais, CFO of LKQ Euro Car Parts, has become a patron of the Automotive 30% Club, to conclude the business’ busy week of International Women’s Day celebrations.

The Automotive 30% Club was set up to improve the gender balance in the automotive industry, specifically by filling at least 30% of key leadership positions in its member organisations with diverse women by 2030. This is known as the ‘30 by 30’ strategy.

Annick Jourdenais commented:

“Encouraging and enabling talented women to progress up the automotive career ladder isn’t just the fair, moral thing to do – it’s also good for business.
“Gender-diverse groups make better decisions, and form companies that are more likely to succeed. And in times of unprecedented technological and regulatory change in automotive, the need for strong, effective, diverse leadership is arguably greater than ever.
“I’m incredibly proud to be working alongside likeminded peers to increase female representation in our industry. Together, we can pave the way for more women to successfully develop their careers, improve the way the automotive sector is perceived, and ultimately, better serve our customers.”

Over the past week, in support of International Women’s Day and its #BreakTheBias theme for 2022, LKQ Euro Car Parts has been celebrating inspiring women in different roles right across its business – telling the stories of their individual career paths and furthering colleagues’ understanding of what it’s like to be a woman in a male-dominated industry.

Free LKQ Academy training courses have also been made available to female technicians to support more diverse talent in the aftermarket, as LKQ Euro Car Parts seeks to support a more gender-diverse customer base.

Julia Muir, founder of the Automotive 30% Club & CEO of Gaia Innovation Ltd, added:

"I am very pleased to welcome our new member Andy Hamilton CEO and Patron Annick Jourdenais CFO of LKQ Euro Car Parts, to the Automotive 30% Club.
“LKQ Euro Car Parts is the UK’s leading distributor of car and LCV parts and has 280 branches, also trading through Arleigh Group and LKQ Coatings, so will represent a significant widening of the reach of our campaign into the aftermarket.
“I shall look forward to joining with Annick and Andy to ensure that the automotive aftermarket will be an environment in which women will thrive and progress."

The Automotive 30% Club is powered by the social enterprise company Gaia Innovation Ltd.
