New digital platform launched to inform, train and connect UK automotive aftermarket

Date: Thursday 03 December 2020

Messe Frankfurt UK, organisers of Automechanika Birmingham, has launched auto:resource, a new online directory and resources platform to inform, train and connect the UK automotive aftermarket.

The comprehensive website, www.autoresource.co.uk, was created following extensive research conducted to over 12,000 automotive professionals, who made it clear there is a need to inform and connect the industry via one central digital hub.

When asked if there is a strong demand for a new digital platform in the automotive aftermarket, more than 70 percent of respondents stated they would benefit from a central platform to find technical and training advice, and 93 percent of respondents believed digital resources can be better than alternative sources of information.

The research also found that 60 percent of garage businesses prioritise training in online searches, while 71 percent of motor factors look for new products and suppliers digitally.

With this in mind, auto:resource offers the latest market trends and insights, while providing aftermarket practitioners access to training and education; detailed product and service information; plus exclusive offers and incentives from industry brands.

The launch of auto:resource will also see the introduction of regular technical briefings, reports, webinars and email bulletins to keep the industry up to date.

auto:resource is already proving popular with over 60 established aftermarket brands signing up and showing their commitment for the launch, including BM Catalysts, Comline Autoparts, Delphi Technologies, Denso, Ecobat, Hella, Launch Tech UK, NGK, Sealey, Valeo, WD-40 and ZF Aftermarket, to name a few.

This new, innovative platform is completely free to use and designed specifically for the UK aftermarket, including garage owners, technicians, bodyshops, mobile repairers, franchised dealerships, breakdown, motor factors, distributors and retailers.

Simon Albert, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt UK, organisers of Automechanika Birmingham, said:

“Messe Frankfurt UK has a proven track record of connecting the automotive industry under one umbrella, and this new digital platform fully complements our longstanding commitment to providing the industry with an exhibition it can be proud of in Automechanika Birmingham.
“In a year of such change, we have reacted positively to meet the needs of every business in the automotive supply chain and auto:resource brings the market closer together through the effective provision of a plethora of information and data.”

This easy-to-use website will allow quick access year-round to source product content, technical information, service solutions, and connection with suppliers to help businesses grow.
