NGK riders ready for 2022 World Speedway Championship

Date: Thursday 28 April 2022

Speedway supporter NGK’s all-star line-up of riders will be competing in the first Grand Prix of the 2022 World Championship season in Croatia on Saturday (April 30).

The ignition and sensor specialist is backing triple World Champion Tai Woffinden, Sweden’s two-time World bronze medal winner Freddie Lindgren and former European Champion Robert Lambert in this year’s championship which starts this weekend at Donji Kraljevec.

They will be joined by Britain’s Dan Bewley, who has been called up for the event following the banning of Russians Emil Sayfutdinov and Artem Laguta because of their homeland’s invasion of Ukraine.

Last year Woffinden, who is Britain’s only three-time World Champion, Lambert and Bewley joined forces to help Britain win the NGK-sponsored 2021 FIM Speedway of Nations, the country’s first World title for 32 years.

John Money, who handles Speedway sponsorship on behalf of NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, said:

“I’m sure all our customers who are Speedway fans cannot wait to see our riders in action this season starting with the Croatian SGP on Saturday which will be televised by Eurosport at around 5.30pm.
“Tai, Freddie and Robert are three of the biggest names in the sport while Dan’s introduction represents a great opportunity for him. It should make for a really exciting championship.”

All the riders will sport NGK’s famous logo when racing their 500cc bikes which will be fitted with NGK spark plugs.
