Original REPXPERT Millionaire bonus points winner splashes out on workwear and training

A 100-year-old village garage in Herefordshire that was the first-ever REPXPERT Bonus Point Millionaire winner in 2023 has already spent the whole of its million-point prize haul on a mix of workwear and training.

Markhams Garage was named as the inaugural winner in the ongoing promotion in May 2023. The 10-bay garage has been at the centre of the community in Kingsland, just outside Leominster, since first opening in October 1924.  Fielding eight staff, the garage is led by a team of four directors, including Simon Powney. “How we've managed spend all the points already,” said Simon, “I just don't know!”

Each time a REPXPERT member uses the app to claim their bonus points during promotional periods, by scanning the unique OneCode QR code on every LuK, INA or FAG product box, they automatically receive an entry into the next prize draw to win one million bonus points.

Once they had received their winnings, the Markhams Garage team headed online to the REPXPERT Bonus Shop. “The first thing we decided to do was buy new corporate workwear,” said Simon. “Polo shirts, t-shirts, trousers, jackets and body warmers; a complete kit. The uniforms are all REPXPERT branded, but as we ordered so many, Schaeffler arranged to have the Markhams Garage logo put on them too.

“We still had some points left after that, so we asked Schaeffler what training we could get with it. They spoke with their ambassador, Andy Savva, who offered us places on his Garage Inspector leadership, quality management and front of house essentials course, which two of us will be attending in Gloucester in October. We consider this to be a very worthwhile use of our million points.”

The REPXPERT app continues to be a pivotal portal for the team, offering up technical information and more. “Everything is changing,” said Simon.  “Even though we're in the countryside, we're still connected. Thanks to the REPXPERT app, we can get hold of all the relevant product and technical information we need, exactly when we need it.”

The REPXPERT Bonus Point Millionaire promotion continues throughout 2024, with products scanned during the July/August promotional period being entered into the prize draw. The third and final promotional period will take place in November and December.
