Race ace Brayden out in front in motorcycle championship

Date: Monday 27 June 2022

NGK-sponsored motorcycle star Brayden Elliott leads the 2022 Pirelli National Superstock championship after an eventful meeting at Knockhill.

The Australian came second for the CFS Filtration No Bull Racing team in the first race of the meeting before crashing in the second race while challenging for the lead and he also set the fastest lap of the meeting.

Brayden (27) said:

“Leaving Knockhill with my head held high after a strong weekend. Such a shame to throw it away while fighting for the win. Maybe I was a bit too hungry for victory but I guess that’s what makes me a racer. Will put it down to experience, I’m unhurt and the bike will go again so onwards from here.
“Overall, we took a podium, set the fastest lap of the weekend and walked away as the championship leader. We have a few weeks to get sorted and come back swinging at round five.”

Mark Hallam, Marketing Manager of ignition and sensor specialist NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, said:

“It’s fantastic to see Brayden lead the championship as we go into a short break. He is riding incredibly well and I’m sure his fans can’t wait for the next round of the championship when it resumes next month.”

Brayden has 106 points, one point ahead of second-placed Tim Neave as the series heads to Brands Hatch on July 24-26.
