Ring Carnation and OSRAM to light up CV Show 2022 with next generation in power management and lighting solutions

Date: Wednesday 13 April 2022

Ring Carnation, the vehicle conversion electrical specialist, will be demonstrating the next generation of power management at the 2022 Commercial Vehicle Show, taking place 24th – 26th May, at the NEC, Birmingham.

The face-to-face event will enable visitors to experience Ring Carnation’s ‘On Board with You’ offering first hand, including the genisys II ECU (gII ECU) system, as well as the company’s complete vehicle conversion electrical package.

Ring Carnation has been the market-leading supplier of switching systems with the emergency services since 1995 and genisysTM, launched in 2007, remains the controller of choice. genisys II ECU Classic (gII ECU Classic) has more processing power, bigger memory, greater control capability, higher efficiency and new user-friendly service features.

Visitors will be able to get to grips with the gII ECU, which is equipped with a high performance 32-bit 300Mhz Atmel Cortex®-M7 processor with 2MB of on-board memory and 16 analogue inputs, enabling monitoring of multiple conditions such as battery voltages, temperature and pressure.

The gII series of modules are built with ABS polymer enclosures with anti-microbial additives, providing durable and hygienic packaging with greater environmental protection.

There will also be an opportunity to see the Wireless Switching Power Hub, which can help reduce installation time by up to 35 percent.

The Power Hub provides up to eight output ports with a total rating of 60A, providing ease of connection for ancillary electrical items.

Switching is controlled via its Rechargeable Wireless Switching Panel and comes complete with 360° swivel mount docking station.

The Switch Panel is fully backlit and, like the Power Hub, features switching indicator lights, and it can be used remotely from the docking station, all of which allows the user greater flexibility, ease of use and clear information about the switching status.

In practice, the Ring Carnation Power Hub can reduce the installation time on a typical installation, featuring a light bar, two work lamps, three interior lights and a hand wash from three hours to under two hours.

What’s more, the latest range of PowerSource Pure Sine inverters will be demonstrated, all of which have been developed in line with industry requirements.

The new programme features a standard footprint irrespective of power output, providing a common space claim on all installations, RCD and reverse voltage protection on all units. This ensures the integrity of the unit post installation and in use and provides the facility to specify the power outputs if the standard issue – 800,1600 and 2400W – are not suitable for the required needs.

The Ring Carnation team will also be explaining how being “On Board With You” is about far more than exceptional products. The company’s cutting-edge technology and bespoke technical solutions are combined with friendly technical support, including installation and operation guidance.

Representatives from AirMax Remote will also be on available on the stand, providing advanced fleet telematic solutions that deliver actionable business intelligence and operational insight, with unique driver behaviour, remote vehicle diagnostics and mileage capture functionality.

For the last eight months, AirMax has been working in partnership with Ring Carnation to build on existing emergency services solutions to deliver an industry leading ‘Blue-light’ package.

With the partnership and functionality delivered by AirMax Remote, the Ring ‘genisys™’ solution has IoT connectivity and thirty-two insights, which can be monitored remotely.

The new partnership with AirMax Remote has created one of the most important and valuable emergency vehicle monitoring solutions available today and has recently led to the delivering of 200 telematics solutions to London Ambulance Service.

Experts from OSRAM will also be available at stand 5D95 to deliver lighting expertise and demonstrate its specialist range of lighting products, including its LEDriving® driving and working lights, which help commercial vehicles to transport essential items safely through the night thanks to their intense levels of illumination.

The range offers a variety of performances, shapes and beam patterns, with various illumination profiles including spot, wide and combo.

The aftermarket-fit LED lights enable drivers to see better and be seen better. During the day, the ‘position light’ function (only available on certain products) will highlight the truck’s presence, and at night, the additional high beam function improves far-field visibility whilst warning others of the truck’s approach.

Visitors can also see the new OSRAM LEDguardian®TRUCK FLARE Signal TA19 in action. This LED warning light is visible from a great distance and can warn drivers about a dangerous situation on the road by actively flashing, compared to the simple reflection such as that of a warning triangle.

Finally, the new OSRAM LIGHTsignal LED and HALOGEN BEACON LIGHTS will also be on display at the show. The 360° rotating, amber beacons can be mounted on vehicles with unusual widths, length or load, as well as on municipal vehicles, emergency vehicles, command vehicles and accident assistance vehicles to draw attention to a hazard in road traffic or in the working environment.

The beacons are suitable for 24V vehicles and offer a versatile option thanks to the robust and functional design. The three-point mounting system also allows the beacon to be securely and firmly mounted on the vehicle roof.
