SMP Europe makes successful debut at Automechanika Birmingham 2023

SMP Europe says its first time showing its leading engine management and ignition product portfolio, plus its engineering and manufacturing expertise at Automechanika Birmingham, was a “huge success”.

Visitors to the event were able to get hands on with SMP Europe product lines, with information available on its manufactured EGR valves, air mass meters and new NOx sensor ranges.

SMP Europe’s sales and product teams were available to offer more information about the company’s Intermotor, Lemark and Lucas brands, with the engineering team also attending, to detail how SMP Europe’s high-end products are designed and manufactured at its Centre of Engineering Excellence, at its Nottingham head office.

“As a show first-timer we enjoyed real success. It was great to be back meeting customers face-to-face. The event felt like a proper aftermarket show, with great footfall, the right audience and brands. For us, it was definitely a good show to get involved in.”

SMP Europe’s engineering team has grown in recent years, and additional investment has also seen the implementation of 3D printing machines to assist in rapid product prototyping, fitment testing and in house custom tooling. Plus, a garage facility with the capability of stripping electric vehicles (EV) for research and development of new applications and offering technical training on EVs.
