Stand-up star Dara O Briain announced for IAAF’s 2024 Awards Dinner

Renowned comedian and television presenter Dara O Briain will be the headline entertainer at the 2024 IAAF Awards Dinner, which will take place 5thDecember 2024 at the DoubleTree Hilton, Milton Keynes.

O Briain is one of the UK and Ireland’s most beloved stand-up comedians and television hosts.

Best known for his role as the host of the long-running comedy panel show ‘Mock the Week,’ O Briain has also presented a variety of popular TV shows including ‘Blockbusters,’ ‘Robot Wars,’ ‘Three Men in a Boat,’ ‘Dara and Ed’s Great Big Adventure,’ ‘Stargazing Live,’ ‘Dara O Briain’s Science Club,’ and the acclaimed documentary ‘Dara O Briain Meets Stephen Hawking.’

Most recently, he fronted ‘Wonders of The Moon’ and ‘Mysteries of the Pyramids’ on Channel 5.

O Briain's comedic journey began in Ireland as a children's presenter on RTÉ, while simultaneously performing stand-up gigs. His breakthrough in UK television came in 2003 as the host of BBC Two’s ‘The Live Floor Show,’ leading to multiple guest hosting appearances on ‘Have I Got News for You.’

He has since become a staple of British television, celebrated for his quick wit and engaging style.

O Briain’s live performances are globally renowned, with tours spanning from Moscow to Sydney and multiple sold-out shows in Dublin’s legendary Vicar Street. His extensive list of live DVDs and critically acclaimed tours, including the recent ‘So Where Were We?’ highlight his enduring popularity and comedic talent.

The IAAF Awards Dinner will also see the announcement of the prestigious IAAF Awards, celebrating outstanding contributions and achievements within the automotive aftermarket sector.
