Date: Wednesday 29 July 2020

The IAAF invite you to comment on the BSI ISO Draft International Standard (DIS)18541 for standardised access to automotive repair and maintenance information (RMI) by independent operators. The series of standards covers light passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and heavy-duty vehicles and is based on Directive 2007/46/EC.

The document comes in four parts and can be found in the secure area of the website by CLICKING HERE.

Part 1: General information and use case definition
Part 2: Technical requirements
Part 3: Functional user interface requirements
Part 4: Conformance test

This version includes technical revisions replacing the first edition of ISO 18541-1:2014. The main changes include a correction of errors, an improvement in formulations and security-related RMI for the SERMI scheme moving to Annex A.

The use cases address a number of real world scenarios relating to the information necessary to carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance, inspections, diagnosis, roadside repairs, and the updating and replacement of Electronic Control Units (ECU).

In addition the document describes requirements for granting access to security-related RMI for the SERMI scheme.
