Successful six-month start for auto:resource

Date: Wednesday 30 June 2021

In its first six months since launching, central online content marketing platform, auto:resource, is proving popular with the automotive aftermarket. The platform has experienced a significant increase in visits from industry professionals, month on month, and with now more than 100 suppliers uploading their latest content, including Bosch, Valeo, Delphi, Bilstein, Euro Car Parts, NGK, GroupAuto and many other well-known brands taking the leap to join.

Current statistics are exceeding expectations and the resources website is now quickly becoming a go-to hub for the latest aftermarket updates, with the number of visitors to the site averaging over 8,000 per month and page views exceeding 21,000 in the month of May alone.

Hundreds of workshops, factors and retailers have signed up to join the platform and ‘favourite’ and save resources. When viewing the site, visitors are spending on average over two minutes across the platform, which is nearly double the time spent on other websites, highlighting strong engagement with the relevant content available and the need for supplier information in the wider aftermarket.

To further reflect auto:resource’s early success, topical bi-weekly emails featuring trending news and informative industry insights are well received by aftermarket professionals.

Visitors include technicians and end-users such as repair centres, car dealerships, auto-centres, and MOT centres, as well as motor factors, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.

Simon Albert, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt UK, organisers of Automechanika Birmingham, said:

“Over the past year, everyone has come together to successfully serve the needs and requirements of the industry, and this is evident in the strong interest and engagement that we’ve been experiencing over the first six months of launching auto:resource.
“Our webinars have been a hit, with the most recent covering ‘Electrification in the Aftermarket’ and with the popularity of the resources being so great, we’ve created a digital click book of the top views of supplier content which will be released beginning of July; our first ‘Digital Review’. As we continue to engage with our aftermarket community, we are evolving the ways we connect suppliers with buyers, both at live events and online, with our latest offering including retargeting, otherwise known as audience extension.”

He continues:

“We’re thrilled by the positive response we’ve received from the automotive aftermarket and look forward to continuing to provide industry professionals with a central online hub for the most sought-after and relevant insights and information.”

Messe Frankfurt UK, organisers of Automechanika Birmingham, successfully launched the auto:resource digital resources platform at the end of 2020 to connect, inform and train the UK automotive aftermarket.

The new website was launched following extensive research conducted to over 12,000 automotive professionals. It became clear that the automotive community wanted to access the latest product information, training, promotions and news all year round instead of just at the live face-to-face event, Automechanika Birmingham.

The established event organisers have a dedicated team to assist suppliers with generating relevant content, whether it’s a technical brief for a new product, a promotional campaign for a competition, sponsoring a webinar or more.

With social media more important than ever, having a presence across multiple platforms has been a huge part of auto:resource’s success. The industry is actively joining the conversation across the auto:resource social media groups to stay abreast of the latest news and resources.

There are many ways to be involved; those interested can simply explore the packages that could benefit their business and then get in touch to let auto:resource know which opportunities best match their requirements.
