Survey reveals Automechanika UK events deliver return on investment

Date: Thursday 22 September 2022

A recent independent survey carried out by Explori has found that exhibiting at an Automechanika UK event brings about increased sales, brand awareness and new business for its exhibitors, indicating that exhibitions should be a key part of a supplier’s marketing strategy.

One of the key findings of the survey was that 97 percent of companies see trade fairs as an important marketing route, with 86 percent of exhibitors confirming they carry out new business at trade Automechanika UK events.

This highlights the value that exhibiting at an industry-focused, national event can bring, as it provides established suppliers with the opportunity to meet directly with their chosen target audience, showcasing their offering, while building and strengthening key customer relationships, with 84 percent of exhibitors rating Automechanika UK event attendees as ‘outstanding’.

And what’s more, with 61 percent of visitors expressing that they do not attend any events other than an Automechanika UK event, it’s clear that the UK flagship event, Automechanika Birmingham, is the only place that automotive aftermarket suppliers can meet with a large portion of UK garage and bodyshop owners from all over the country.

There’s more good news for exhibitors too, as 92 percent of all previous attendees plan on bringing a colleague to Automechanika Birmingham 2023, and 99 percent of visitors would encourage others to attend, meaning the upcoming event is set to be bigger and better than ever before.

Simon Albert, managing director of event organisers Messe Frankfurt UK, comments:

“It’s evident from the exhibitors and visitors that Automechanika Birmingham offers the perfect platform to do business in the automotive industry.
“The success of any trade event is down to listening to what its exhibitors and visitors want and looking at every opportunity to add value to their business and experience. And that’s exactly what we do – using visitor testimonials and surveys, we find out exactly what the market needs, and build an event around this that can specifically meet market demand.”

Automechanika Birmingham works with exhibitors to ensure they get the most out of its leading trade event in order to deliver a return on investment and a truly memorable visitor experience.

This is backed up by visitors, as the findings discovered that 100 percent of Automechanika Birmingham visitors are coming to source new products, 64 percent plan on buying while at the event, 36 percent intend to place the order at the show for delivery within the year, and, 39 percent of previous visitors were looking for long-term partners to repeat order.

The success of the first UK Garage and Bodyshop Event means an even stronger presence of bodyshops and garages at Automechanika Birmingham, which will take place from 6 to 8 June 2023 at the NEC and will be the first UK event since 2019.

Exhibitors can expect to see 12,000 visitors, 50 percent of which will be aftermarket professionals, 25 percent motor factors and distributors, 25 percent dealers, retailers and franchisers.
