TecDoc Advances Automotive Aftermarket with Premier Data Quality

Date: Thursday 20 June 2024

Ismaning, Germany, 20 June 2024 – TecAlliance, the leading expert for data management and processes in the automotive aftermarket, has announced a significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to data excellence. In the most recent supplier evaluation conducted in May 2024, 32% of the brands in the TecDoc Catalogue were awarded the prestigious “TecDoc Premier Data Supplier” (PDS) seal for meeting rigorous data quality standards.

Since 2021, TecDoc has been intensively collaborating with parts manufacturers to enhance the quality of data in the TecDoc Catalogue. By introducing stricter key performance indicators (KPIs) and validations, TecDoc has systematically improved the accuracy and standardisation of product information. These continuous improvements and the pursuit of the highest data quality enable the precise identification of the correct replacement parts for specific vehicles.

The May 2024 evaluation revealed that 358 brands now hold PDS status. Around 84% of the brands in the TecDoc Catalogue meet the Certified Data Supplier or Premier Data Supplier standards. This shows that they provide very good or excellent product information and adhere to the internationally recognised TecDoc Standard.

TecDoc's rigorous Data Quality Management (DQM) program includes monthly KPI reports to data suppliers to aid them in continuously refining their data offerings. The upcoming introduction of new KPIs in 2024 is expected to further enhance the quality and reliability of the TecDoc Catalogue data.

Andreas Assmann, Director Data Quality Management at TecAlliance, states: “Continuous efforts to improve data quality are crucial. As the digital aftermarket constantly evolves, TecDoc evolves with it to meet customer needs. We ensure precise part identification and comprehensive, accurate product information to facilitate faster decision-making at the point of sale. Feedback from the latest TecDoc Data User Group Meetings has revealed that these efforts are highly valued. They are especially important due to the increasing complexity and diversity of vehicles.”

In addition to the evaluation of supplier data according to clearly defined KPIs, ongoing communication with data suppliers and data users on all aspects of TecDoc catalogue data quality is crucial. To ensure this, national and international TecDoc expert groups and regular data user group meetings have been established.
