The doctor is in and there is no charge!

Date: Friday 15 July 2022

Global lubricant leading light, Motul, is finalising its programme for arguably the two biggest remaining historic vehicle events of 2022 - the Classic at Silverstone over August Bank Holiday weekend and the Goodwood Revival in mid-September.

As the proud official lubricant partner of both events, Motul is, of course, looking to maximise its presence and part of that encompasses how it might be able to add value to both events. In this instance, Motul is bringing two of its renowned Mobile Laboratories to the events and it is offering oil analysis - free of charge - to competitors and to those visiting who are members of one of the car clubs that is attending each event.

The process uses a small sample of engine or transmission oil to analyse the elements present in the oil sample and, from this, by picking out those which it would expect to be present and those which indicate something amiss - and the quantities thereof - it is able to determine which are healthy and which might either have problems, or might be expected to develop them.

This type of oil analysis, has proved universally popular on events including the gruelling Dakar Rally, which Motul has long been a partner of.

“When Motul started the service on the Dakar - which it made available to all competitors, not simply those using Motul products - there was not an enormous take-up of the service. However word of how valuable the analysis was soon spread amongst the teams and now the service is used, to god effect by all,” explains Motul UK’s Techincal Specialist Has Tahier. “Given how much people cherish their classics, and how this could save them both inconvenience and expense by an early indication of a problem - and the fact that it is a free service! - we hope we will see high levels of take-up at both Silverstone and Goodwood.”

Silverstone visitors will get to see the Dakar Mobile Lab Truck for themselves, while those attending Goodwood, will see Motul’s Mobile Lab facilities housed in something more period-appropriate.

People attending the events who wants more details of how they might benefit from Motul’s Mobile Oil Analysis service at the event can do so through the QR code provided then (or https://www.clubmotul.co.uk/competition/SilverstoneClassicOilAnalysis)

The Classic at Silverstone will take place from August 26-28th and the Goodwood Revival from the 16-18th September.
