TMD Friction expands into new territories with brake relining accreditation

Date: Friday 09 June 2023

PartsXpert Wijlhuizen BV Arnhem is the first company on the mainland of Europe to receive the commercial vehicle brake relining accreditation from TMD Friction, with other countries following soon, including Romania, Poland and additional countries as TMD Friction continues to provide customers with high levels of support across a global basis.

Carrying out more than 50 CVL accreditations since launching in 2022, TMD Friction’s technical training team has recently visited its Netherlands-based customer Wijlhuizen to execute its commercial vehicle brake relining accreditation, which gives valued relining facility customers its quality seal of approval.

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) accredited scheme sees several TMD Friction customers now approved as trusted braking relining centres, providing confidence in the service centre’s quality offering in both products and technical capability.

Scott Irwin MIMI, head of technical training at TMD Friction, said:

“Continued professional development is highly important, especially when working with safety-critical components such as braking. We’re pleased to be able to deliver this accreditation and offer a rubber stamp of approval to our valued customers, including Wijlhuizen, and raise awareness of the correct relining procedure.”

Jeroen van der Stelt Marketing Manager from Wijlhuizen, concludes:

“When it comes to braking, safety is of the upmost importance and it’s therefore imperative that as a company, we ensure that our team is equipped with the most up-to-date training and knowledge of the approved commercial vehicle relining procedure. It was a pleasure to welcome TMD Friction to share their expertise and ensure our customers can rest assured that they’re receiving first-class service in this area.”

TMD Friction’s technical training programme enables its customers to satisfy IMI criteria for the standardised process for correct, safety conscious relining of commercial vehicle brake assemblies.

The braking specialist supplies the worldwide commercial vehicle market with an uncompromising approach to brake friction product manufacturing, ensuring safety-critical components deliver performance and comfort.

Customers can also benefit from training sessions and technical workouts to keep their knowledge up to date, as increasingly complex brake systems and exacting safety standards are introduced.
