WAI tracking engine technology innovation with expanded sensors range

Date: Tuesday 23 May 2023

Leading rotating electrics supplier WAI is continually expanding its range of engine management products, to stay ahead of the curve as advanced engine technology reaches the aftermarket.

Despite electric and hybrid powertrain technology now in the spotlight, the internal combustion engine continues to evolve, with efficiency and performance at the forefront. Engine management components control a vast array of engine actuators and sensors to maximise efficiency, give a smooth delivery of power and meet emissions standards.

WAI has extended its sensors product portfolio to now cover up to 95 percent of the vehicle parc within its mass airflow (MAF) and manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor ranges, with 220 and 245 part numbers in each. Both ranges feature a 24-month warranty and are engineered to OE-matching quality.

Richard Welland, managing director at WAI, said:

“It’s a challenge for factors and technicians to find a supplier that can offer a full suite of engine management references. New vehicles, whether they are ICE-powered or hybrid, feature more and more sensors on board to optimise efficiency and performance, so there’s increased demand for these products right across the aftermarket as the vehicle parc expands.
“WAI sits as a specialist electrics supplier with a heritage of quality delivering high-end parts. It’s crucial that technicians look to quality suppliers as today’s technologically advanced vehicles bring with them potentially high labour costs associated with repeat replacement of inferior parts. WAI’s unrelenting approach with product research and development means customers can be confident in fitting WAI parts.”

WAI also holds an extensive portfolio of camshaft and crankshaft sensors, also achieving 95 percent vehicle parc coverage, with 274 and 468 references in each range. WAI’s high-end ignition coils range comprising 426 references is also developed in-house, featuring smart coil microprocessors and continuous thermal compensation.

Additionally, WAI supplies starter motors and alternators, clutch pulleys, wiper motors and window regulators. WAl's rotating electrics ranges includes more than 5000 part numbers in total, with a complete complementary technical support service delivering full fitting guidance with every order.

Innovation and excellence are at the core of WAl's design and engineering strategy to ensure the company only produce the best products for the aftermarket. For more information visit WAl's UK website: https://www.waiglobal.com/uk_en
