Your Car Your Choice backs young British Superbike superstar

Date: Friday 30 July 2021

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF), via its Your Car, Your Choice campaign, has shown its support for Storm Stacey in the British Superbike Championship, at the recent race, held at Brands Hatch on 23 – 25 July.

The Your Car Your Choice logo featured on Storm Stacey’s visor, courtesy of Autotech Academy, as the IAAF continues to communicate the rights that consumers have under Block Exemption Regulations to have their vehicle serviced or repaired at any garage or outlet without invalidating the warranty. Terms and conditions apply.

There is still a huge misunderstanding in the UK of the rights that motorists have when it comes to getting their vehicle serviced at a Repairer of their choice from new. As BER will come to an end in its current format on 31st May 2023, the IAAF believes now is the time to seriously raise awareness as we enter a “digital phase” of vehicle technology and data ownership.

Storm Stacey is one of British Superbike’s hottest young racers and is part of the LKQ Euro Car Parts Kawasaki British Superbike team. Last year, the teenager made history as the youngest person to start a British Superbike Championship race when he made his debut with the GR Motorsport team.

Mike Smallbone, head of membership development at IAAF comments:

“It’s great to see the British Superbike Championship get back on track after a year where the entire automotive industry pulled together in such a phenomenal way, and we thank Autotech Academy for the chance to sponsor such an exciting talent in Storm Stacey and wish him all the best in the upcoming races.
“2023 is drawing ever closer, and this was a fantastic opportunity to shine the light back on the Your Car Your Choice campaign and raise awareness of a customer’s right to choose where they take their vehicle to be serviced.”

Autotech Academy was established by Autotech Group to counteract the shortage of fresh talent entering the automotive industry. Providing qualified college leavers with a gateway into the industry through a paid internship, Autotech Academy will help hundreds of young people gain valuable work experience and make the transition into full-time automotive employment within three to 12 months.
