In honour of Tyre Safety Month in October, Ring has created a counter display unit (CDU) for three of its most popular products in its tyre care range for LKQ Euro Car Parts stores.
To encourage drivers to think about their tyres more, LKQ Euro Car Parts stores will have a Ring CDU that will hold its most popular tyre gauge, puncture repair kit and emergency puncture repair sealant.
The tyre gauge included in the CDU is Ring’s award winning RTG4 Digital Keyring Tyre Pressure Gauge (RTG4). TheRTG4 is a digital tyre gauge with keyring attachment, making it lightweight and convenient to carry around, and therefore easy for users to check their tyre pressures regularly. This gauge gives accurate readings in PSI, kPA, BAR and kg/cm2 and even comes with an integrated LED light to help drivers find the tyre valve in the dark.
The second product in the CDU is Ring’s flat tyre repair kit (RTK6) that includes a Particle Gel Sealant, which is a liquid sealant with through valve technology, as well as Ring’s most popular ‘tried and tested’ inflator, the RAC610, so drivers can fix their tyre quickly and easily.
The sealant included in the RTK6 is a direct replacement for original equipment tyre sealant and will seal punctures up to 6mm in size and can be easily washed out with water, allowing the tyre to be repaired if necessary. The RTK6 sealant is non-toxic and non-corrosive.
Ring has ensured the sealant is easy to use, with the sealant working through the valve, meaning there is no complicated process of removing the valve core and doesn’t need any tools to use. This procedure can be done within 10 minutes, meaning the driver can get to a garage quickly without needing to call out any roadside assistance.
The final product is Ring’s emergency puncture repair tyre sealant (RTS5), which is designed to get the driver home as quickly and as safely as possible. With this sealant, there’s no need for wheel changes or any tools, creating an ideal quick fix until the driver can get home or to a workshop and get the tyres changed. The RTS5 is a single use product that works on all tubeless tyres.
Marketing Director for Ring, Henry Bisson, said: “During the past couple of years, we’ve helped at multiple events with our partners, TyreSafe, where we check people’s tyres, and they continue to raise our concerns, as a lot of the tyres we check have some sort of issue. Yet, this is why we need to keep beating this drum and discussing the importance of tyre safety and the potential consequences of drivers not looking after their vehicles, whether that’s lights, brakes, battery or tyres, in fact, every aspect of their car needs care and regular maintenance.
“Tyres are a vehicle’s only contact with the road and should be looked after a lot more than they are. We were thrilled to collaborate with LKQ on this CDU, as we’re hoping that this will encourage more drivers to think about their tyres and hopefully with the gauge, they’ll check them, and with the puncture repair kit, they’ll have a way of fixing them and being able to get somewhere safe to change the tyre. We look forward to how this is received by the stores and their customers.”
