WAI secures ‘aftermarket dragon’ at first-ever IAAF ‘Garage Den’

Thursday 8 Jan 2026

Leading rotating electrics supplier, WAI Europe, took centre stage to pitch its latest products, as part of the new ‘Garage Den’ segment of the IAAF’s Annual Conference, hosted at Stadium MK on 4th December 2025.

The brand was eventually picked up by Matt Cleevely, Managing Director at Cleevely Electric Vehicles. Both Cleevely and WAI will collaborate on an exciting project which will be revealed in June 2026 at the UK Garage and Bodyshop event in Birmingham.

The ‘Garage Den’ is the first initiative of its kind, bringing both workshops and suppliers together to form new relationships and fresh perspectives on innovation.

WAI’s pitch was delivered by Marc Roder, International Sales Director , representing the company by presenting a detailed overview of WAI’s three-phase EV cables to the “Dragons.”

Following the event, Marc Roder said: “We’re looking forward to working with Matt on this latest project. EVs have become particularly more prominent on UK roads and, with the valuable insight from a well-respected voice in the sector such as Cleevely Electric Vehicles, we can make further advances in providing the EV aftermarket with high-quality, considered coverage.”

“WAI’s commitment to the sector has stemmed from inviting workshops to share their insight. Collaborating with Matt is such an exciting prospect for both parties and we’re looking forward to taking considerable strides in innovation within EV charging.”

Cleevely Electric Vehicles has helped families, businesses and fleets make the switch to low emission vehicles, helping to reduce their carbon footprint and save money on running costs.

The final solutions from each team will be unveiled at the UK Garage & Bodyshop Event at NEC, Birmingham on 3rd and 4th June 2026, giving all who attend a live example of their efforts and collaboration.

WAI’s participation in IAAF’s first “Garage Den” has proven significant in highlighting its unwavering commitment to support the success and growth of the automotive aftermarket, with the event representing a collective message from the industry to a more collaborative future.
