Schaeffler gives REPXPERT bonus points a boost!
Schaeffler has revealed that it will be increasing the value of its REPXPERT points, so members will get more ‘bang for their buck’ in the bonus shop!
To further assist its immediate leisure battery customers, as well as the wider leisure community, Ecobat Battery, the UK’s largest battery distributor, has published a helpful and informative NCC verified battery brochure that references all of the verified batteries the company now offers and which together provide the solution to virtually every imaginable leisure power related requirement.
As a reminder, the National Caravan Council (NCC), which represents the UK caravan industry, introduced its Verified Leisure Battery Scheme to help enthusiasts identify the batteries that will best suit their needs among the many options available in the marketplace.
After summarising the scheme, which is designed to ensure it is easy to identify the batteries on the market that are quoting accurate, verified specifications, to give consumers confidence that the battery they are considering is fit for purpose and will perform as advertised, the brochure goes on to distinguish the three categories: Class A, Class B and Class C.
Starting with Class A, for applications frequently used without an electrical hook up and subsequently delivering a minimum of 350 cycles, the brochure then lists the five brands – Exide, Lucas, Numax, Odyssey and Rolls – that it offers in this most demanding category, including the six new references it introduced for the 2025 season.
In Class B, for high consumption conditions, where a motor mover is used, for example, but still generally used with an electrical hook up and a minimum of 200 cycles, there are multiple options from Exide, Lucas and Numax.
Under Class C, which is for situations where the power consumption is low and batteries are generally used with an electrical hook up, and where 70 marks the threshold for the minimum number of cycles, Odyssey, with two new references, is among other options from Exide, Lucas and Numax. However, due to the thin plate pure lead technology the Odyssey batteries employ, despite falling within the Class C category, both the 63 and 85 Ah version will deliver up to 900 cycles, making them the longest lasting C rated batteries.
Finally is a section dedicated to another important aspect of leisure battery life, that of their care and maintenance.
Regular and appropriate charging will significantly prolong the life and performance of a leisure battery, so high quality chargers also feature, with brands including CTEK, Victron and Numax. These provide a range of options to cater for the varying needs of enthusiasts, and rounds off the helpful resource, which is available online and can be downloaded here.
